Description:

St Helena Airport may be the most difficult airport that commercial airliners visit. The remote island of St Helena is a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic that is most well known as the place where Napoleon spent his last few years in exile.

The remote island had for years only been accessible by boat (a trip that took one week from Cape Town, South Africa), but in the early 2010s the UK Governemnt decided to build an airport to better connect the island to the rest of the world and hopefully build a tourism sector. After years of construction and 285 million pounds of government money, the airport was completed in 2016.

There was one major problem though- the airport location suffered from severe wind shear most of the time. Due to the windshear problems, the original plans for nonstop scheduled flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town in 737s had to be cancelled. The largest plane capable of landing here with the wind shear was now an Embraer-190, and the flights have to stop to refuel in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

The runway is surrounded by cliffs on both sides so don't overrun!

Make sure to arm speedbrakes, set flaps to 2 or 3, and set autobrakes!

Please let me know if you have any feedback or tips! Any help with better replicating the severe wind shear would especially be helpful. Thanks!
