KDTS - Destin Executive Airport (Detailed Airport Improvement)
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Destin Executive Airport (ICAO: KDTS; FAA LID: DTS), is a public use airport owned by and located in Okaloosa County, Florida. The airport is one nautical mile (2 km) east of the central business district of Destin, Florida.
Due to its close proximity to Eglin Air Force Base and the high levels of military flight activity, all flights to or from Destin Executive Airport must adhere to "special air traffic rules" and obtain ATC clearance before entering the Eglin/Valparaiso terminal area. The Destin Executive Airport is an independent general flight office possessed and worked by Okaloosa Area and isn't reliant on ad valorem charges.
Destin Executive Airport covers an area of 395 acres (160 ha) at an elevation of 22 feet (7 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 14/32 with an asphalt surface measuring 4,993 ft by 98 ft (1,524 m by 30 m).
For the 12-month period ending March 6, 2018, the airport had 63,000 aircraft operations, an average of 173 per day: 99% general aviation, 1% air taxi and less than 1% military. In January 2020, there were 65 aircraft based at this airport: 36 single-engine, 15 multi-engine, 11 jet and 3 helicopters.
Destin is one of the most important touristic destinations in the state of Florida in the US, with beautiful beaches of quiet and blue-green and crystal-clear waters, also known as the Emerald Coast. To know more about Destin, look at the several videos posted in You Tube.
THE AIRPORT IN MSFS:
This is a detailed improvement or enhancement of the default MSFS Destin Executive Airport mostly using default Asobo/MS assets, plus several external object libraries (see "Dependencies and Credits" below) and 3D models taken from 3D Warehouse/SketchUp either for the airport itself and for some landmarks of the Destin area, including some typical water towers and some of the big tanks in the waste water treatment plant near the airport.
NAVAIDS:
There's a NDB Station located within the perimeter of the airport, DTS, with a frequency of 254 kHz, close to runway 14 and visible when landing. Charts are included for Instrument RNAV approaches into RWY14 and RWY32. The Airport Diagram is also included.
INSTALLATION:
Simply unzip the downloaded file, extract the scenery main directory ("edpatino-destin-executive-kdts") and put in manually in your Community Folder. You'll find a Documentation sub-folder with the Charts available for this airport. Please read carefully the following section about dependencies.
DEPENDENCIES AND CREDITS (READ CAREFULLY):
I would like to thank all those 3D artists that offer their work for free at 3D Warehouse. Several of these models are being used in the scenery (big standard and sphere water towers located in different parts of the city of Destin).
Several library packs were used for the design of this scenery, and I'm very thankful to their creators for their excellent work with the libraries:

I would also like to thank @Windhover for its wonderful set of open hangars. Several of them were used for the construction of this airport. You don't need to download any of them, as you would do with any other dependencies, because it's a library model already included in the scenery: (https://flightsim.to/file/26325/open-hangar-library).
Last but not least, you need to have installed the previous World Updates, particularly those for Japan, USA and the UK (please check in your Content Manager), to be able to see several objects and buildings used for the scenery. Also, it's strongly recommended to install the UK2000 Common Library, which can be downloaded and installed for free from the Marketplace.
Thanks to @eddb2020 for his help in beta testing this airport!.
Hope you all download and enjoy the Destin Executive Airport as much as we do!.

Nice! Any way to make it a zip file?

Thanks for your comment. It's uploaded as a zip file already, why would you want another?

Very nice scenery (though not sure about the german helicopters! Recent purchases shipped over from Europe?). A bit of a shame that my first visit coincided with a big storm in the area so didn't see much of the surrounding area. Hopefully will be clear when I leave.

Thanks a bunch........Could you attempt KPNS Pensacola?
KPNS would be a great addition to the area. If someone has 3D models of the main terminal and buildings, and CT we could team together and work on it. Thanks for your comments.
