This file contains new Asobo default 747 autopilot tuning parameters. This eliminates the roll channel instability at high altitude.
Adjustments in this first version include:
1. Roll channel (between the flight director roll command and ailerons)..default had way too much gain and derivative for the flight dynamics.
2. Heading mode (loop between heading setpoint and FD roll command), had way too much derivative and was showing derivative kick).
3. Nav_ex1. This is the mode for following a nav line, way too sensitive, resulting in continuous rolling
That's all that's modified for now. I tested at 40,000 from max IAS down to 210. Stable. Loop tuning is all about compromise..fast response to changes, but more gain than the system can handle and you introduce instability.
I need test pilots. Try this tuning parameter set and let me know if it's better or doesn't work in other conditions.
I coudldn't figure out how to make a community directory file to replace this cfg file on the default plant. If you're not comfortable replacing cfg files, then maybe deal with the default until Asobo fixes this one.
To install:
Put this file (ai.cfg) into your asobo-aircraft-b7478i directory, replacing the one that's there. There's also the original file in there names original 747-ai.cfg, if you ever want to go back to the default tuning.
For STEAM: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\asobo-aircraft-b7478i\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_B747_8i.
If someone can tell me how to set up a directory to put in community that will make MSFS use this one (not the original), please let me know. I realize that this would be more convenient.

found this file a god to go
it has a good stability now, one thing
i encountered:
Flying down GS the LOC pointer
is not getting hold the correct way, he moves totaly
out the middle as you down the runway; can you correkt this issue ?
But other than this, good work so far..

If you are seeing any differences in behavior with mods like this it is purely circumstantial. I've flown entire flights where one had lots of rolling at high altitude and one didn't.

I think the fmc works fine but the display shows that I'm a few degrees off my heading
but on the vfr map it says I'm fine
do you know a fix for this?
