The Yavoriv Training Center is a military training facility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located about 10 kilometers from the Polish border and 30 kilometers northwest of Lviv. The base covers an area of 360 square kilometers, encompassing firing ranges, driving ranges for armored and wheeled vehicles, and of course this heliport. The area was first used for military training by the forces of Austria-Hungary in 1918, continuing in the Soviet era, and also by the Germans during WW2. Since 2007 it has been the site of the International Peacekeeping and Security Center (IPSC), which performs training for international first responders, search and rescue teams, peacekeeping, anti-terrorist, and military forces.
To see all static aircraft and ground vehicles, Modifly Model Library is required.
The assigned ICAO code, UKYV, is fictitious.
