Namibia… wild horizons of solitude and beauty
The name Namibia comes from Namib, which means "vast place", since a large part of its territory is desert or semi-desert. Located on the east coast of southern Africa, it bears the stamp of the German colonies. Namibia has the world's oldest desert and highest dunes, the deepest canyon on the African continent, and incredibly abundant wildlife.
The Bushtrip consists of five legs:
Leg 1: Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon worldwide after the Grand Canyon in the United States of America. The Canyon itself is unlike anything else found in the continent and is rightly regarded as Africa’s very own Grand Canyon. The majesty of this canyon, its beauty and its singularity, make it a very special place and make it one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders.
Leg 2: NamibRand Nature Reserve is one of the largest reserves in Africa and its special attraction is the captivating beauty and diversity of its landscape, which changes from expansive gravel plains to undulating dune seas, rugged canyons with towering walls of volcanic rock and distant mountain ranges. Sossusvlei, is a striking place that is dotted with huge red dunes that change colour in the light, interspersed with open landscapes and extremely dry flats.
Leg 3: Brandberg Massif, the highest mountain in Namibia. Messum Crater, the largest volcanic crater in the world. Dorob National Park protects the astounding coastline of Namibia and the ecosystem that supports over 270 species of birds. Cape Cross Seal Reserve, the largest colony of cape fur seals in the world.
Leg 4: Karas Region, the southernmost, largest and least densely populated of the 14 regions of Namibia. The region is predominantly a small stock-farming area, consisting mostly of animals such as sheep or goats.
Leg 5: Etosha National Park, one of the most spectacular places in Namibia. Its more than 23,175 km2 protect countless species of animals and make it one of the largest national parks in Africa. Etosha is not green like the jungle or orange like the desert... Etosha is white like salt. It is desolation and the ability to survive, with all that natural beauty that desolation brings. This park receives several names: “Place of mirages”, “Land of dry water” or “Great place of dry water” due to the large salt flat that characterizes it and the dust clouds that form mirages on the blurred horizon.
Voices and Texts in English, Catalan and Spanish
You will fly with the Beechcraft Baron G58 and have the weather window active so you can experience all the routes at different times and seasons. At the beginning of each leg, the plane is parked and in a Cold & Dark situation. If you want to start the plane quickly, just press the "CTRL + E" keys and activate the lights. You also have a flight plan available with all legs (Namibia 1.pln). I hope you enjoy it!
Installation:
You have two .rar files available:
Namibia v1.1 CAT-ESP-ENG.rar: contains the text and audio files in Catalan (es-ES), Spanish (es-MX) and English
Namibia v1.1 ESP-ENG.rar: contains the text and audio files in Spanish (es-ES, es-MX) and English
Once the corresponding file has been downloaded, unzip the file and copy all the folders “nam-namibia-Txx-CAT” and/or “nam-namibia-Txx” and “nam-namibia-T01S” in the "Community" folder of your MSFS.
If you have a previous version installed, first delete all “nam-namibia- Txx-CAT” and/or “nam-namibia-Txx” and “nam-namibia-T01S” directories from the “Community” folder.
