LATAM Group presents a special collection of aircraft with the colors of South American countries to reinforce local pride January 11, 2024 - 11:032 Mins Reading Throughout 2024, 5 aircraft will be painted with the colors of the national flags of the countries where the subsidiaries operate domestic flights in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. Santiago, Chile, January 11, 2024.– With the goal of recognizing the local pride of the main airline group in Latin America, the LATAM group unveiled its latest project, which consists of emblazoning five aircraft with the colors of the respective national flags of the countries where the subsidiaries operate domestic flights. The idea, which will extend throughout 2024, is to gradually incorporate the five painted aircraft into the domestic flights of the subsidiaries, starting this January 11 with LATAM Airlines Brazil, when an Airbus A320neo with green-yellow colors will debut; subsequently, aircraft with the tones that identify the subsidiaries of Colombia, Chile, Peru, and finally, Ecuador will be added.
Through this initiative, the companies of the group seek to deepen even more the ties with each of the territories where they operate, valuing the pride of the origins of all the collaborators who mobilize the LATAM group and reinforcing the connectivity that the group offers to people in their countries, in the region, and in the world. The LATAM group is made up of a composition of the cultures of South America, diversity is an essential part of the group and this initiative is a way to honor and embrace the differences, because we know that it is a great wealth of the region,’ said Martin St. George, commercial vice president and marketing of LATAM Airlines Group. The special paint job, which is being implemented by 30 workers from the Brazilian subsidiary, maintains the characteristics of the LATAM logo already applied to its aircraft, only modifying the colors used. The design of the A320neo of LATAM Airlines Brazil began this Monday at the São Carlos base, in Sao Paulo, the largest maintenance center of the LATAM group.
Currently, the airline group has 332 aircraft; 56 Boeing passenger planes (models 767, 777, and 787) and 256 Airbus planes (models A319, A320, A320neo, A321, and A321neo). In addition, LATAM Cargo has 20 cargo planes
